This walking tour of the Vatican City takes in all the highlights that the Holy See has to offer. Once entering the Vatican we will begin this tour in the outdoor Pigna Courtyard where we will have an full introduction of the Vatican allowing you to have a proper understanding of the area and why it was all built where it is today. This tour will then continue to see the many rooms, galleries and works of art that the Vatican Museums consist of. We will visit the Octagonal Courtyard where Ancient sculptures surround us in an open air gallery.

We will see a replica of an Ancient Roman bathhouse fit for royalty as Nero once soaked his weary bones in the central bathtub. Going into the Gallery of the Candelabra we will see the amazing Greek and Roman Statuary Collection where marble comes to life with precision craftsmanship. In the Gallery of the Tapestries we will see Raphael in all of his glory, with optical illusions, larger then life images and fine weaves created from the most precious of fabrics.

The Gallery of the Maps is one of the most astonishing galleries that the Vatican has to offer as attention to detail was an absolute must. The Old Papal Apartments will also be visited on the Semi Private Vatican City Tour. This is where Pope's laid their head and where once again Raphael shows us his masterful hand. Raphael's famous School of Athens is one of the many must sees which will be covered in depth.

After a quick detour through the Borgia Apartments and Modern Art Gallery we arrive into the Sistine Chapel to see where Michelangelo has donated years agonizing work to the create the unforgettable ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and its alter wall, the Last Judgement. The Sistine Chapel also houses work from some of the greatest artists of the late Classical period such as Perugino (the teacher of Raphael), Botticelli, Rosseli, Ghirlandaio and many more created a workshop to covers the Chapel's walls. Every corner of the Sistine Chapel will be covered in depth so that you can sit and enjoy the view while appreciating every detail that you are looking at.

Upon exiting the Sistine Chapel we will end the tour directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world. Legends, myths and facts will all be discussed regarding the death and burial of St Peter, Michelangelo's dome, the gigantic St Peter's Piazza and of course St. Peter's Basilica. At the end of the tour you will have plenty of time and information to help you explore the Basilica, the tombs below the church or perhaps climb the dome of St Peter's with a commanding view of the city of Rome and the Vatican City.
