Tour Description

We begin this private tour first by visiting the Academia Gallery which is situated in the heart of the city. Your private tour guide will provide invaluable insight into some of the world’s greatest works produced by the most celebrated artists of their day. This gallery is most popular for holding Michelangelo’s David. Many replicas are scattered throughout the city but none compare to the original colossal work done by the master himself. There is no better way to beat the crowds, skip the lines and to see this magnificent statue than with one of our Florentine guides.

After visiting the Accademia Gallery we will make our way deeper into the heart of Florence on route to the most famous Cathedral in town: Santa Maria Del Fiore, or better known as, 'Il Duomo'. Just before arriving at the Duomo we will have the chance to see Florence’s famous Baptistery with the amazing bronze doors that were dubbed by no other than Michelangelo as “the gates to paradise”.

'Il Duomo'; Florence’s imposing and architecturally stunning cathedral boasts the 4th largest dome in the world. This artistic delight is an engineering wonder with so much to see, we make sure to reveal this cathedral in all it's glory, from the outside.

Continuing on to Piazza della Signoria which is one of the most vibrant piazzas in the city. This square will have your head turning in every direction as it plays host to many renowned statues and sculptures that makes Florence the city it is today, and has been for hundreds of years. The fascinating history of this piazza, it's sculptures, renaissance era 'palazzi' and flowing fountains are brought to life by our knowledgeable and experienced local guide.

The Loggia dei Lanzi is also situated in Piazza della Signoria; with its wide Gothic arcades, it too is filled with magnificent pieces of works that has amazed visitors for centuries.

The last stop on this tour is Ponte Vecchio. With its stunning views, it has spanned over the Arno River since medieval times and has since been a center of trade, and a focal point of artisan’s workshops. Ponte Vecchio today houses some of Florence’s most famous goldsmiths and jewelers who's work and traditions have passed the test of time.

After the tour you will be in the perfect location to visit some of the jewelers, cross the Arno to the leather markets of San Lorenzo or sit down to eat at the many great restaurants, wine bars and gelaterias nearby.
