Tour Description
We begin in Florence, our driver will pick you up from your hotel at 9.00AM and begin the enchanting drive through the Tuscan hills onto where you will meet your first town, Riomaggiore. It is believed that this town dates back to the 8th Century when villagers from the Vara Valley region wanted to come closer to the coast to grow olive trees and grapes. It is characterized by it's pastel coloured houses and slat roofs, which, seen from the water, looks like a picture from Heaven.
If you can separate yourselves from the first village, we will move onto Manarola, the oldest of all five villages. Here, you can experience the local foods and wines which this village is renowned for whilst admiring the panoramic view in front of you.
Then, onto the town of Vernazza, the true gem of the Cinque Terre, known for it's stunning beauty above the rest (which is hard to do). It's edged along a cliff with restaurants, bars and shops along the waterfront to entertain most, if the fishermen hawling in their nets every evening isn't enough! It is dominated by the watchtower and church ruins which adds to the overall scenery.
When you're done with the views from there, we move on to even more! we take a boat from Vernazza to Corniglia, the only village along the Cinque Terre that isn't beside the sea. The boat will take you to the beach underneath where you will find a zigzag of stairs up to the hilltop town. You may be tired when you get up to the top but trust me, it's worth it!
Last but not least, we move onto our final town of Monterosso, the most resort-like town of the five. Here, you will actually see cars and buses around but don't let that put you off, it's a resort town for a reason, it has the best beaches to offer in the Cinque Terre region and a bustling center to add to it. This last village is brimmed with restaurants, artisan shops, bars and historic sites to see.
Finally, if you can pull yourself away from this enchanting area, we make our way back to Florence with your driver who will drop you off at hotel.
